The $12 pool snack that sent me down a rabbit hole

Hi Reader,

After spending $12 on two frozen treats (HOW) at the pool yesterday, I thought it was a good time to refresh our memories on some store bought summertime treats to keep in the freezer!

There’s a few new products out this summer, and some old favorites. These are all ones that are on the healthier side, as far as treats go!

A lot of the no sugar added popsicle boxes look incredibly similar to the ones that DO have a lot of sugar added, so just make sure to check the label when you pick it up.

The Wyman’s Just Fruit cups are a forever favorite for my kids – they are little balls like dippin’ dots, but count as a serving of fruit!

Let me know if you give any of these a try (or if I’m missing one of your faves!)

What My Family is Loving for Summer

I have to laugh that the kids’ picks are for entertainment, and Ben and mine are about comfort!

  • Kanoodle is a game that is super portable, and is so much fun for kids and parents alike. It keeps Emilia entertained while at Teddy’s weekend tournaments! (And every single one of us enjoys taking a turn playing!)
  • I keep finding Teddy at the kitchen counter working on something in this book. WAY more fun than a traditional workbook, but still keeps their brains active this summer.
  • Lots of water polo spectating means lots of sitting – Ben (and I) have been loving these!
  • And for me – I thought I was dealing with hormonal night sweats, turns out it was my duvet suffocating me. I am sleeping so much better once I switched to this one – it’s so breathable and made of a cooling fabric – I haven’t woken up covered in sweat a single time since I switched. 10/10 recommended for cool, comfortable sleep.

I Need Your Help!

I’m pulling together my list of Father’s Day gift ideas, and I’d love to hear what you’re buying, or what your dad/brother/husband/uncle/grandfather already loves. I’ll share all of the great ideas so as a community we can take the guesswork out of what to buy dad this year!

Can’t wait to see your ideas for the dads out there!

Hi Reader, We all know the mental load of feeding kids goes way up in the summer time. More snacks. More food requests. More meals at home. More random kids at your house needing to be fed. Before you add another thing to your mental to-do list, save this email. (I swear yesterday alone I added 19 things to my to-do list. Sign the camp forms. Make camp carpool plans. Get a light bulb for the closet, buy goggles, call the plumber. OK, I will spare you the rest but I know you feel this in your...

Fudgy Brownie Bites

Hi Reader, You know what I’ve missed while my kids have been in school all year? I’ve missed walking around the house picking pillows up off the floor all day. I’ve missed the steady hum of my kids arguing with each other that I can hear from any part of the house. I’ve missed making food and cleaning up the kitchen around the clock. I’ve missed being asked, “can we go somewhere fun now” at 7:30 in the morning. Lucky me, I’m about to have ALL of that, and more! Okay you know I love my kids a...
