Hi Reader, I feel like as a dietitian I’ve been shouting about fiber from the mountaintops for the past 10 years, so I’m just a tad bit bitter that it’s just getting its time in the spotlight now. But, better late than never and all that jazz. 🤪 Even if your kid is having regular bowel movements, they still may need some more fiber in their diet. A GREAT goal is to serve a fruit or veggie 3 times a day, and whole grains, nuts, or beans, at least once a day. If you’re already getting that in, you get a gold medal! 🏅 For us, being 100% realistic with kinda picky kids and busy weekdays, that usually looks like whole grain cereal at breakfast (yes this counts!) or a smoothie, a fruit-packed with lunch and sometimes nuts/nut butter, and then brown rice, a veggie or another fruit at dinner. I try to hit 2 servings at dinner when possible – like Goodles pasta and broccoli, or roasted potatoes and berries. If I’m lucky I might squeeze in another fruit serving with an after-school snack! If you need ideas of how to squeeze more fiber in, reply to this email and let me know! I'm always happy to help with your fiber questions, and can include Fiber FAQs in a future newsletter. Everything You Need to Know About Fiber The Best Fiber Supplements for KidsLet’s talk about fiber! Check out these suggestions for adding more fiber to your kid’s diet. And if they’re struggling to get enough, I included my favorite supplements to help bridge the gap.

Common Causes of ConstipationIn this blog post, we talk about poo. Actually, the lack of poo. And the reasons why sometimes, our kids can poo with vigor and an impressive lack of insecurity (“Mamaaa!! Wipe!!”) and other times, it’s the hardest thing in the world. (Pun very much intended.)

Hi Reader, This is the part of December when the wheels totally fall off (for me at least)! We kinda just have to hold on and get through it. For me that means more takeout than usual, more mess around the house, and more screen time for the kids. I’m sharing some soup favorites below because I love eating soup leftovers for lunch, and my kids will usually eat some soup as long as I pair it with grilled cheese or toast. But please know that I will also be hitting up Chick-Fil-A, Chipotle, and...
Hi Reader, You may have heard me share this before…but stuffing my own stocking is one of my favorite holiday traditions. I get what I actually want, it takes any guilt out of buying things for myself this time of year, and I love snagging some of my favorite and most-used items when they’re on sale. And the best part is – it can be almost anything on your wishlist that isn’t too large. Air Pods, Apple Watch, Oura Ring? Claw clips and hair ties? Jewelry? Medicube pore pads? Heated gloves?...
