WOW. What an honor 🥹

Hi Reader,

Do you know what is so not sexy? Kids nutrition.

Every single day I pour my heart into it because it’s something I’m passionate about and I’m one of those people who just never gives up on the things I care about.

But out of ALL the things that you can consume online, there’s plenty that is more entertaining, exciting, fun, funny, beautiful, etc.

So first I want to say THANK YOU for putting some of your limited free time toward such a worthy subject that will greatly benefit your kids, but isn’t always the most fun thing. (Like teeth brushing.)

And second, I am extremely honored that the LA Times featured my comments in their Children’s Health and Wellness Special in print and online in Future of Personal Health.

Supporting our kids’ health is one of the greatest gifts we can give them!

Feeding Tip Of The Week

Want a Trick to Simplify Meals and Snacks?

Too many choices? Littles asking for the same things every single day? Try my meal & snack choice cards!

It’s simple – offer choices the day before (or meal/snack) before, so they know what to expect the next time they eat. And the best part is, they picked it, so there’s at least a 50% higher chance they’re going to eat it (I made that stat up, but it feels accurate!).

And whatever they pick this time, just leave that option out for the next day, so they get a little variety into the mix. Win, win, win!

Weekly Meal Plan

Skylight calendar friends – did you know there’s a feature called Sidekick that will plan meals for you? It’s awesome. You can have it pull from recipes you already have uploaded, or it can suggest new ones. It’s quick and customizable. This is not an ad; I just have been enjoying this shortcut!

SUNDAY: Sous vide steak, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, watermelon

MONDAY: Honey butter garlic chicken with rice, steamed broccoli, and raw snap peas

TUESDAY: Quesadillas with leftover steak, seasoned pinto beans, spinach salad with dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds

WEDNESDAY: Spaghetti casserole with frozen meatballs and sauteed zucchini

THURSDAY: Leftovers/chicken nuggets and pineapple

FRIDAY: out

Stay cool, friend!

P.S. Keep your eye out for Prime Day Deals! Next week is Amazon Prime Day, so I’ll be sending my weekly newsletter on Tuesday, highlighting some of my favorite deals. 🛍️ After that, I’ll be taking two weeks off from the newsletter to give both my brain and your inbox a little summer break! I’ll be back on 7/28 as usual. ☺️

Chocolate Banana Popsicles

Hi Reader, One of the most useful things I’ve taught my kids (besides wiping their own butts) is how to make their own breakfast. This morning I went out to walk the dog and realized that was only possible because the kids could get themselves fully ready for camp without me. The freedom to not be needed for all of their care is simply intoxicating. Cereal is often the star of the show, and that really isn’t a bad thing the way you think it might be. Teddy’s go-to is plain Cheerios and...

Hi Reader, I had summer amnesia. Somehow I blocked from my memory just how hard it is to manage a single thought when the kids are home from school. And settling into a summer “routine” is hard work for us. Each week is a little different, but we still need some level of routine for normalcy. Whether we have a quiet day (wait, what’s that?) or we’re on-the-go, I do have to give a shout out to our Skylight Calendar since it’s the one thing that’s helping me maintain my sanity. We’ve been...

Brownies on a Plate

Hi Reader, I’m letting go of mom guilt over the little things this summer (or at least trying REALLY hard to let go). After I was asked about 10 times to have popsicles for breakfast, I said you know what, why not. But honestly there are some that are really just fruit & we want them to eat fruit at breakfast, why not eat it in popsicle form? So I found THESE awesome popsicle sleeves that you just pour a smoothie into to make your own popsicles! Here’s three recipes I’ve made already this...
