Hi Reader, I’ll admit it: one of my favorite forms of low-stakes entertainment is scrolling through my neighborhood Facebook group. It’s ideal when you’ve got 5 minutes waiting on a kid somewhere, and I do actually pick up great intel. Who can repair your sprinklers, where does everyone go for plastic surgery, and what streets are randomly closed for construction. And occasionally I get a first row seat to neighborhood drama that makes my own life feel extremely calm by comparison. Last week I saw a thread that I thought was actually really great – the admin asked, “What’s something that you have bought, for under $100, that has been life changing?” I was so curious to see what other people would say! I wanted to share a few things that stood out, and what I would personally add to the list.
Now what would I add? I restrained myself and only posted one item even though I wanted to post SO MANY! I shared how we switched to these in our bathrooms and I’ll never go back. Someone else commented that they are great for communal bathrooms like college kids with roommates, and someone told me they love them because they don’t collect pet hair! Here’s a few more that I would add to the list:
What would you add?? I’d love to hear! New This Week From Mama Knows The Best Peanut Butter SnacksIf you have a picky kid who loves peanut butter there are lots of great healthy snacks you can make (or buy) with it! I love that peanut butter is full of protein and healthy fats that keep kids hungry, so it makes a great addition to snack time.

Hi Reader, There’s a type of behavior I have been seeing at school a lot this year that doesn’t get talked about enough. Probably because it’s uncomfortable, and probably because it’s often dismissed as “just how some people are.” A group of moms who bond by tearing other women down. Openly commenting on other moms’ bodies. Calling people ugly or fat. Mocking how someone parents, dresses, or exists — often with kids standing right there within earshot. That’s not confidence. That’s not being...
Hi Reader, Last week, I asked you to share your thoughts on me creating a talk or resources to help support conversations around weight and body image, and the response was overwhelming. I think it was the most replies I’ve ever gotten to a newsletter. Many of the stories shared broke my heart, and that’s exactly why I want to help with this topic. Every person deserves to feel confident and loved in their body, and to understand the value of nutrition and how it can help fuel your body. I...
Hi Reader, I’ve had a few conversations with moms lately about something that feels especially hard to get “right” – talking to our kids about weight, and how food relates to their body. And I shared a post on Instagram that resonated with a lot of you about what to do if your kid comes to you and says, “I’m fat.” (If you haven’t seen it you can read it on Instagram or Facebook.) I got a lot of great feedback from moms thanking me for talking about it openly and for helping them feel more...
