Hi Reader, I got to experience fall in Vail last week (thanks to a work trip for Ben I got to tag along on!) and it has me craving ALL things fall. So this week I’m sharing a roundup of my favorite fall recipes. From pumpkin pancakes to apple crisp to pumpkin pasta! Fall cravings? I’ve got you covered. Here’s me and Ben mountain biking! I felt so proud of myself for trying it out – it was NOT easy – but it made me feel immense gratitude for everything my body can do. I never want to take that for granted! If you make one of my fall recipes, share a pic with me @mamaknowsnutrition on Instagram. I love to see what you make. By the way, pumpkin ABSOLUTELY counts as a vegetable so if you can get your kid into pumpkin things, you are winning!! Fall Recipes From Mama Knows Pumpkin Baked Oatmeal BarsA nut-free, gluten-free, pumpkin-packed breakfast or snack, these baked oatmeal bars are a staple in our house. Dairy-free if you use non-dairy milk and substitute oil for the butter. Kid and toddler approved!
Pumpkin Pie YogurtAdd the word “pie” and suddenly yogurt becomes a new exciting treat, and this Pumpkin Pie Yogurt will not disappoint!
Healthy Pumpkin PastaIf you’d like to try a veggie-packed alternative to mac and cheese, that still tastes amazing, this healthy pumpkin pasta is going to be your new favorite!
Creamy Pumpkin SoupBefore you think I’m going to have you carving up and roasting an actual fresh pumpkin, please know that the pumpkin in this recipe is CANNED. I am such a huge fan of a simple swap that allows dinner to come together faster and me to minimize the time I spend prepping food.
Healthy Pumpkin PancakesI love that these healthy pumpkin pancakes are easy to make, low in sugar, and get my kids to start the day with more than just plain carbs!
Healthy Apple CrispThis healthy apple crisp recipe is incredible and will make you wonder why traditional recipes even have so much sugar in the first place…you won’t miss it! This recipe has over 50% less sugar than traditional recipes.
MKN Fall Favorites A candle on the kitchen counter on a crisp fall day is my absolute favorite thing and if it’s yours too you have to get one of these rechargeable flameless lighters! I’ve had mine for years and it’s so much simpler than matches or even those Bic long-stem lighters. You’ll love it!

Hi Reader, I feel like as a dietitian I’ve been shouting about fiber from the mountaintops for the past 10 years, so I’m just a tad bit bitter that it’s just getting its time in the spotlight now. But, better late than never and all that jazz. 🤪 Even if your kid is having regular bowel movements, they still may need some more fiber in their diet. A GREAT goal is to serve a fruit or veggie 3 times a day, and whole grains, nuts, or beans, at least once a day. If you’re already getting that in,...
Hi Reader, Today I want to peer pressure you into trying something that I’m obsessed with and it’s all thanks to my mom. (Thanks mom!) For as long as I can remember, anytime I was working on a giant pile of homework, which was basically every single night in high school, she would always bring me a hot mug of herbal tea. Usually lemon. And it was. The. Best. Thing. Ever. Somehow it always brought me comfort every single time. It was like the little thing to look forward to and enjoy amidst...
Hi Reader, I’ll be honest – Halloween has never been my favorite. Mostly I just wonder why it can’t be on a Friday or Saturday every year. I always feel TERRIBLE for our teachers the day after Halloween! Every year around this time, I get the same question: “How much candy should I let my kids have?” Here’s my very professional, very real answer: let them eat the candy. Trying to tightly control how much they eat usually backfires. It makes candy feel extra special and can lead to kids...
