My Favorite Purchase of the Year

If cleaning is the bane of your existence, you're gonna want to hear this.

Since I got this 2 months ago, I've spent a total of MAYBE 1 hour cleaning my floors, and that's only because the robot mop-vac can't clean stairs (yet).

While we are in bed, the entire first floor gets vacuumed AND mopped.

Not only that but it maps out your floor expertly and even learns which areas to avoid, like cords on the floor.

My floors are SPOTLESS every single day and with a dog who is always bringing in dirt and kids running around in shoes, it is a huge gift!

(And what's even better is that it empties its vacuum bag itself, and cleans the mop pads itself too! It is really truly hands off.)

I researched a ton before choosing this specific model and I couldn't be happier. It's at its best price today... Check it out!

I Paid Full Price... But You Don't Have To

  • I never get tired of sharing this. This calendar has completely changed the game for our family organization - now Ben & the kids don't have to ask me what's for dinner or what our plans are!
  • Smells like fall, without the crumbs: If you have a Pura, it's always a win to snag refills on sale... And this scent? Rivals Starbucks on PSL release day! SO GOOD.
  • If you have kids that can never keep the bath water contained, you need this. No more soggy bathmats or soaking wet floors! Huge game changer in our house.
  • This walking pad allows me to work in exercise in between being my kids' taxi driver, and it's the only way I get in my steps every day.
  • This wifi house phone is keeping cell phones out of my kids hands until we're ready!

Things Your Kids Will Love (That You Won't Hate)

  • We never leave the house for a trip without this. It's perfect for screen-free entertainment at home or on the go – it's my kids' most used item! They use it nightly before bed, too.
  • These hand sanitizers are Emilia’s current obsession, and I get it -- they’re basically the Stanley cup of hand sanitizers!
  • The ONLY BRUSH Emilia allows near her head and believe me we've tried them all. This one has eliminated hair brushing tears in our house.
  • My kids have hit that age where they like listening to music in their rooms – but of course they never want to listen to the same thing! We gave them their own Kids' Alexas last year and they've been a hit!

Finds Under $20!

  • I may not be in the toddler-mom phase anymore, but this stain remover still gets daily use in my house.
  • If you're in need of more lunchboxes, now is a great time to buy! My favorite for little kids is under $20!
  • I'm so tired of finding broken plastic hangers in my house! These slim velvet hangers are sturdier (and prettier to look at!).
  • These electric salt and pepper grinders feel like such a luxury!
  • Auburn on the MKN team swears by these pore pads! They're such a great price!
  • Time to replace your ratty oven mitts for these – such a simple upgrade that feels so nice!

And for game day...

I decided to try to lighten up queso because my family loves it but DANG is it not the healthiest choice. I cut back the fat and calories and even added some bone broth in there, too! Everyone loved it - even Ben, my toughest critic when I "healthify" recipes!

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz white American cheese (slices)
  • 4 oz pepper jack cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Kettle & Fire Chicken Bone Broth
  • ½ cup milk (I used 2%)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chiles
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Whisk 1 tbsp cornstarch with the cold milk to make a slurry.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add bone broth and slurry.
  3. Once warm, add cheeses gradually, stirring until fully melted.
  4. Stir in green chiles and cumin.
  5. Simmer gently until thickened to your liking (2–4 minutes). Add salt if needed.

Hi Reader, I feel like as a dietitian I’ve been shouting about fiber from the mountaintops for the past 10 years, so I’m just a tad bit bitter that it’s just getting its time in the spotlight now. But, better late than never and all that jazz. 🤪 Even if your kid is having regular bowel movements, they still may need some more fiber in their diet. A GREAT goal is to serve a fruit or veggie 3 times a day, and whole grains, nuts, or beans, at least once a day. If you’re already getting that in,...

Pumpkin Smoothie with Straw in Glass Cup with Candle in Background

Hi Reader, Today I want to peer pressure you into trying something that I’m obsessed with and it’s all thanks to my mom. (Thanks mom!) For as long as I can remember, anytime I was working on a giant pile of homework, which was basically every single night in high school, she would always bring me a hot mug of herbal tea. Usually lemon. And it was. The. Best. Thing. Ever. Somehow it always brought me comfort every single time. It was like the little thing to look forward to and enjoy amidst...

Collage of Non-Candy Halloween Treats on Amazon

Hi Reader, I’ll be honest – Halloween has never been my favorite. Mostly I just wonder why it can’t be on a Friday or Saturday every year. I always feel TERRIBLE for our teachers the day after Halloween! Every year around this time, I get the same question: “How much candy should I let my kids have?” Here’s my very professional, very real answer: let them eat the candy. Trying to tightly control how much they eat usually backfires. It makes candy feel extra special and can lead to kids...
