If you’re tired, this one’s for you

Hi Reader,

If you’ve found yourself thinking, “what the heck am I going to do to keep entertaining these people?” – same. Christmas break is L-O-N-G.

I’m so tired that I’ve completely lost use of my brain. I saw a neighbor when I went to grab coffee the other morning and I told her I’d mail her later. What? I definitely meant “see you later” but now she thinks I’m planning to write her a letter? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Emilia’s slime experiments are taking up ¾ of my kitchen island, Teddy has played hours and hours of Minecraft, and it’s still somehow not even lunch time.

And yet, it’s hard to believe this week is already the end of 2025. The days are long and the years are short has never felt more true than it does right now.

I wish you and your family the Happiest New Year (and I hope you can find some time to rest and relax)!

The Best Family Games

The idea of someone asking me to play Candyland makes me want to run from the house screaming because it bores me to tears and zaps all the joy from my life. Luckily over the years we’ve found a bunch of games that are actually truly enjoyable for the whole family.

If you’re in the market for some games (that don’t make you want to cry) so you can entertain your kids and actually have fun too, grab something from this list of our favorites.

Young Boy Leaning on Couch While Yawning

Hi Reader, I bought Teddy a book earlier this month that I can’t stop thinking about and HAD to share with you, because it’s so good. It’s called The Amazing Generation: Your Guide to Fun and Freedom in a Screen-Filled World by Jonathan Haidt. The reason I got it is actually pretty simple…I’m a grown adult and I don’t even like how my phone makes me feel most days. I find it distracting, addictive, and honestly… it often leaves me feeling worse about myself. And if that’s true for me, with a...

Hi Reader, You may have seen in the news that the US gov released the newest edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans – if that sounds like a snooze fest, I don’t blame you. There is a strong recommendation to eat whole foods – great! Love that for us.Problem: people have never followed dietary guidelines and that’s...
