Hi Reader, One of the most useful things I’ve taught my kids (besides wiping their own butts) is how to make their own breakfast. This morning I went out to walk the dog and realized that was only possible because the kids could get themselves fully ready for camp without me. The freedom to not be needed for all of their care is simply intoxicating. Cereal is often the star of the show, and that really isn’t a bad thing the way you think it might be. Teddy’s go-to is plain Cheerios and Emilia’s fave is Chocolate Three Wishes. Both have low added sugar and some fiber, and they get plenty of protein from their milk (we buy Fairlife). Would I love for them to also have a fruit or veggie? Yes, but I’m also okay with that not happening some days so that I can be elsewhere. I eat cereal plenty of mornings too – it’s just easy! I’m typically a Cheerios or Seven Sundays girl. But I always add chopped walnuts to mine for the antioxidants and omega-3s, and if I have berries on hand I throw those in too.

Don't Miss Out – Class is Friday! In just a few days, I’m hosting two sessions of my brand new picky eater AI class! This class is great for any parent looking for nutritionally-balanced meal and snack ideas created only from foods your kids already enjoy. Beyond that, my tool will help identify nutritional gaps, make suggestions to help fill those gaps, share gradual new food changes to try with your little to help expand their food variety. If you have multiple kids, it can even create plans made up only of things your whole family will enjoy – that’s a win in my book! Plus, you can use the tool again and again to adjust your plan to your ever-changing needs.
My Favorite Sun Hat is on Sale! This hat is my favorite! It's adjustable, so comfortable and keeps my face shaded at the pool without my hair being in the way. I've had it for years, and it's still in great shape. I ran into my friend Laura at the pool with the same hat last week and she was saying how it’s her go-to!

Hi Reader, Mornings are… a lot. Last week, my kids managed to spill so much milk at breakfast – multiple days in a row – that I briefly considered calling our insurance company to submit a dairy related flood claim. And while I was on my hands and knees trying to mop up dairy carnage at 7 a.m., I thought, why don't I just give them straws and let them go at it? My floors are pretty clean. (Side note: they are actually REALLY clean. I splurged on a robot mop-vac on Prime Day and it's the best...
Hi Reader, There are very few moments when I’m genuinely scared of my children…but there’s one that haunts me. It’s the after-sports hangry meltdown. They’re the dangerous combination of tired and ravenous, where they’re SO hungry that they get feral. Like I’m pretty sure I’ve been hissed at. It goes without saying that I try to avoid this at all costs because once they go to that place…it’s like climbing a mountain to bring them back. And it’s not their fault, I don’t blame them! I can’t...
Hi Reader, Last week something happened to my neighbor that reminded me of the time the police came to my house when things went wrong with my pet sitter... 🫣 And it also reminded me why we should always trust our instincts when it comes to keeping our kids (and houses) safe! I hate to be cryptic but want to protect everyone’s privacy. What I will say is this: we need to have an “out” ready for whenever we don’t feel comfortable with someone caring for our kids (or even pets). Because when...
