Hi Reader, Are you feeling like this is the season of never-ending…everything? Everyone I know is busy, is juggling sick kids and just trying to stay afloat on their to-do lists. In the spirit of making a few things easier, I wanted to share a few of the Mama Knows Nutrition team’s favorite crock pot meals! While I know picky eaters aren’t often fans of things mixed together, most of these have elements that can *fairly* easily be separated and served individually. Check these out and see if you save yourself some time with an easy meal or two this week! 1. 5 Ingredient Crock Pot Lasagna - This one is highly recommended when your family is craving pasta! It’s hearty, with an extra protein-punch from the cottage cheese. 2. Mississippi Pot Roast - Only a few ingredients make this delicious meal come together quickly. Serve with a side of egg noodles or rice plus a quick microwave-steamed veggie! Tip: you can leave the peppers out if the flavor is too strong for your family. 3. Skinnytaste Burrito Bowls - This is a win with minimal prep required! Serve in a wrap or over rice and with avocado, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese for toppings. Picky eater tip: serve meat, avocado, rice and cheese separately. 4. Easiest Pulled Pork - The slow cooker is the perfect method to get tender, pull-apart meat. This will last for more than one meal! It’s great with roasted sweet potatoes and BBQ sauce one night, and in a quesadilla on night 2 with a side salad! 5. Spicy Peanut Soup with Sweet Potato + Kale (vegan) - This is not picky eater friendly but it’s SO GOOD that it’s still worth making! I let my kids eat PB sandwiches when I made this, because I figured we were still on the peanut theme?? Doesn’t really matter. It’s a must-try! If you have a favorite crock pot or Instant Pot recipe, reply to this newsletter and share the link for me to check out, please! 💜 New This Week From Mama Knows Easy Tomato Soup RecipeThis easy tomato soup recipe is a great introduction to soup for kids because it’s sweet and smooth. There are no chunks to deter kids who are sensitive about texture. And my kids wanted me to tell you it’s not “too tomatoey.” Ha! I think that’s their way of saying they like how it’s creamy.
Feeding Tip Of The Week The foundation of a healthy diet isn’t about avoiding “toxins” or banning certain foods. It’s about making whole, nourishing foods the default. You can make it just as normal to serve an avocado with a spoon as it is to open a box of crackers. Because when real, whole foods are the most familiar option, kids are far less likely to fall into the standard American diet trap. You might be surprised that your kid is perfectly happy with a banana or a bowl of chickpeas and that doesn’t have to seem weird if that’s what you get them accustomed to! Real whole foods aren’t weird when you really think about it. What do your kids like snacking on that might seem “weird”? Mine have always loved frozen peas straight from the freezer! ICYMI: My Monthly Allowance Tracker Last week I shared a template I created for a monthly allowance tracker for my kids. I promised to reshare it this week for new followers (welcome, friends!) and anyone who missed it last week. What I’m Loving This Week So Ben bought us a SodaStream, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much we’re loving it. We used to have one, but it broke a long time ago. We LOVE using the SodaStream Bubly Fruit Drops to make our own sparkling water. We go through so many cans of sparkling water, I think this is going to save us so much in the long-run. Ben just gets knocked down to an A- from an A+ because he bought it in BLACK when there is a WHITE option. Come on Ben! Gotta save that kitchen aesthetic!

Hi Reader, I recently stumbled upon some information that left me absolutely floored, and I had to share it with you. You know those big food companies that fill grocery shelves with ultra-processed foods that are extra tasty but very low on nutrition? Well, it turns out some of them have also owned major weight loss programs… So, the same companies encouraging us to indulge are also profiting from our desire to lose weight. It’s a cycle that keeps people bouncing between overindulgence and...
