Hi Reader, A mom in Emilia’s grade group chat sent around this article a few days ago about the UK’s plans to ban under-16s from social media, following in Australia’s footsteps. The U.S. has no ban plans, but is considering legislation to force social media companies to do more to protect kids and teens. Will any of these policy actions make kids safer or happier? I’m not sure that they will directly. It’s fairly easy to get around age verification checks, or seek out alternate social media platforms that are less regulated, if kids are motivated enough to do so. Personally, I think the biggest benefit of enforcing bans and/or stricter regulations is that it’s a signal to parents that there are many dangers to kids when they use social media. This type of legislation brings more talk and awareness to the problems and my hope is that it would encourage parents to think deeply about what kind of access they allow their kids to have. Social media is horrible for kids’ mental health. Meta claims that bans “risk isolating teens from online communities and information.” Is that supposed to be a bad thing? I have NO problem with isolating teens from comparing their appearance to AI or heavily edited unattainable versions of beauty. I have no problem with isolating teens from incorrect or heavily exaggerated information that induces new anxieties. What do you think about social media bans for kids under 16? Positive? Negative? Neither? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Coming tomorrow…It’s Amazon Prime Day! For anyone who participates in Prime Day shopping, you’ll be hearing from me with my carefully curated deals list. If your kids listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks, I will never stop recommending this. We've used ours almost daily for years and it's still one of the best purchases we've made. 8. Apparently a lot of us are tired of wet bathroom floors. 😅 These are a mom's best friend. 7. I own this everyday...

Hi Reader, Thank you so much for all of the replies with Father’s Day gift ideas! It’s only a week away now, so if you’re still looking for ideas, this is for you! A few of these ideas are things Ben loves, but most of them came from the MKN community. ♥️ What I’m getting Ben – he already has two, but I once listened to him and a random guy at the coffee shop talk about their shared love for these for 10 minutes, so I think his collection can never be big enough! For outdoor enthusiasts and...
